Hello campers of planet Earth. I and the staff went to a Get Motivated event yesterday in Houston. The headliners were Zig Zigler, Sarah Palen , Colon Powel, Rudy Gulliani, Lou Holtz, and Tamara Lowe. Many of these are names you have heard of ( in spite of my spelling). Some are not. What’s interesting is these were the names on the tickets and the ones mentioned in the advertising. They did a great job! My favorite, of these, was probably Colin Powel. This is a man that has been head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Secretary of State. He was negotiating with Gorbachav before the Berlin wall fell and was present when it did. And he was just the most down to Earth guy. Very personable and funny speaker.
There were also speakers that weren’t on the ads . How would you like to be on the program with a Former Sec. of State and a possible future Pres. Of the U. S. ? I can just here them thanking God that the heavy hitters were there so they would have some one to talk to. Care to guess who had the most impact on my life. Yep, two of the also rans.
One had developed a financial wealth building system that I am going to check out with my soon to be 20 year old. The other was just an inspiration and an obvious strong Christian.
It got me to thinking of how many blessings we may miss by being impressed with the glitz or big name and not taking the time to really see what a person is all about. My thought for you this day is NOT to be sucked in by “ the rep”. Don’t get me wrong, the big names had a positive impact on our lives. But as is so often the case, the little names made the MOST impact. That also applies to little things. Take the time to give everyone your consideration. You will be richer for it. Till next time.
